Meet The Host

Captain Lain Goodwin

Captain Lain Goodwin

Lain Goodwin was born and raised fishing the marshes of South Louisiana for trout and redfish. After graduating from LSU, he moved to Key Largo in 1999 and fell in love with fishing the shallow waters of the Everglades and oceanside flats. Within a few years, Capt. Lain earned his license and launched his guiding career in one of the most diverse and beautiful ecosystems in the world.

Tournament victories followed, and Lain soon began hosting a nightly fishing radio show and contributing weekly and monthly fishing articles (back when they still printed articles). Those early media gigs opened doors to national television appearances and eventually led to him becoming a TV host himself.

In 2018, Capt. Lain created a program that was more than “just fishing” – a lifestyle series blending land-based adventures, great recipes, and the camaraderie that happens on the water. His philosophy is simple: angling should be fun and accessible for everyone, regardless of age or experience. And the Florida Keys, with one of the most diverse fisheries on the planet, is the perfect backdrop for that adventure.

Earl Byrd III

Earl Byrd III

Earl Byrd, III lives in Key Largo, Florida, where he fishes full time on a private sportfish operation out of Ocean Reef. Born in Gloucester, Virginia, he first found himself on television as a local shrimper in Biloxi, Mississippi. Since then, he's competed in billfish tournaments throughout the Caribbean, the Gulf of America, the Northeast, and the Pacific Ocean.

Earl was voted Most Outgoing in his senior class, once ate 63 hot wings in one sitting, won the 2nd grade spelling bee in 5th grade, and is known for high level chirping in his adult recreational softball league. Some might know Earl as Dustin McCabe, though scholars remain divided on the matter.
